Junior Architectural
Technologist / Draughtsman

About the Role

Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate architectural and technical drawings using AutoCAD.
• Develop concept, design and construction drawings in line with project requirements.
• Prepare plans, elevations, sections and construction details.
• Coordinate architectural drawings with structural and engineering information.
• Review drawings and project documentation for accuracy, completeness and coordination.
• Incorporate design amendments and technical changes throughout the project.
• Liaise with engineers, project managers, detailers and other project stakeholders.
• Assist with the preparation and coordination of documentation required for project approvals and submissions.
• Maintain accurate drawing registers, revisions and project documentation.
• Interpret architectural, structural and technical information.
• Attend project and site meetings where required.
• Visit project sites when required to verify dimensions, progress and design information.
• Support projects from initial design development through to construction documentation and execution.
• Carry out additional design and project-related duties where required.

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum 3 years' experience within an architectural environment or practice.
• Proficient in AutoCAD.
• SACAP registered as a Candidate Architectural Technologist, or relevant Draughtsman qualification and experience.
• Strong technical drawing and detailing ability.
• Good understanding of architectural plans, sections, elevations and construction detailing.
• Ability to read and interpret structural and engineering drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Computer literate and comfortable working with digital design and project systems.
• Good organisational and time-management skills.
• Able to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary project team.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Valid driver's licence and reliable transport.
• Right to work in South Africa.
• Experience in Revit software will be beneficial but is not a requirement.

Package and Remuneration
