- Finance and Administrative Officer / Assistant Accountant

This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented individual to join LEMCO Group of Companies – a dynamic and well-established company in the construction industry. We are currently seeking a Finance and Administrative Officer / Assistant Accountant to join our team on a permanent basis. This role is based full-time in-office just outside Malmesbury. It is ideal for someone who is skilled in Pastel Accounting, enjoys solving problems, and can handle various financial administration tasks. If you have strong reconciliation skills and a proactive, adaptable attitude, this position offers a great opportunity to contribute to a dynamic team with the potential for future growth.
The company is now looking to employ an Finance and Administrative Officer / Assistant Accountant who meets the below job description and requirements:
Duties and Responsibilities.
- Support daily financial administration tasks.
- Perform account reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and addressing any discrepancies.
- Input and process financial data in Pastel Accounting.
- Assist in reviewing financial records and correcting errors.
- Help with the preparation of financial reports and organise filing systems.
- Oversee and monitor utility bills and electricity usage.
- Perform bookkeeping duties: recording transactions, managing debtors, creditors, and bank transactions.
- Provide financial assistance to other departments (quotes, delivery notes, etc.).
- Assist the Finance Manager in preparing for the annual audit.
- Implement and manage ad-hoc projects.
- General administration and reporting.
- Liaise with creditors regarding statements and account queries.
- Assist with import/export paperwork.
- Reconcile project data (what was quoted, deposits and payments received, invoices, and deliveries).
- General administration support.
Key skills and requirements.
- Diploma or Degree in Accounting.
- At least 3-5 years of relevant experience (previous experience in a similar position and the construction industry will strengthen the application).
- Strong proficiency in Pastel Accounting and Microsoft Office (especially Excel) is essential.
- Strong reconciliation skills with a critical eye for detail, is diligent and precise.
- A solid understanding of basic accounting principles.
- Well-developed organisational and administrative skills.
- Adaptable and eager to learn new processes and systems.
- Ability to think on your feet and solve problems effectively.
- Excellent computer literacy and skills.
- Ability to follow instructions.
